Is prostate cancer contagious?

How does a man develop a prostate cancer? Is it contagious? or Is it transmitted sexually?

Is prostate cancer contagious?
neither
Reply:Neither.

Like all cancer's it is a cellular malfunction. You can't 'catch' it from anyone else.

However, the ability to ask completely and utterly stupid questions can be transmitted sexually.
Reply:No it's not.
Reply:don't be silly.
Reply:Cancer isn't contagious period.

Cancer happens when something goes wrong in a cell's DNA because of chemicals or just genetics.
Reply:No cancer I know of is contageous.
Reply:Hahahaha, no.

It is not contagious.

You get it mainly from not using it, aka no sex or masturbation.

It is also said to be genetic, or just bad luck.

Also, men don't usually get it until they are in there 40's-50's.

And yes it is treatable.

My dad had it and they where able to remove all of the cancer. Unfortunately it no longer functions. But at least he is alive.
Reply:The funny thing is, this guy is probably in college.
Reply:i don't think so
Reply:I think not. Google it.
Reply:Neither, It a cancer that develops within your body and only your body. You can't "catch" it from someone else. Although, it could be genetic which means that the gene is passed down from past relatives of yours.
Reply:No it is not contagious, and no it is not transmitted sexually.

The exact cause remains a mystery, however, it starts off as polyps in the Colon and spreads from there.
Reply:No, it is not contagious but it could be hereditary. It is developed the same way as other cancers and, if detected early, there's a good chance of arresting its further development.
Reply:No. And no. Don't be silly.
Reply:Cancer is not, but STDs are, some can even cause cancer...cancer is a cell that doesn't know when to stop multiplying so it just keep going and going until you die, unless you get the right treatment will probably help...
Reply:Cancer of any sort is not contagious. Cancer is caused by cells that start to divide and multiply at very fast an unnatural rate. These rapidly growing cell populations invade and destroy nearby tissues. The cause of these rapidly growing cells is mutations or defects in dna material. In effect, it is in your genes.
Reply:IT is possible that a virus plays a part in some cases of prostate cancer. This would be the same virus that causes cervical cancer in women.

Because, however, of the extremely long male urethra, this is very unlikely.

Cancer itself is only contagious to identical twins or people without immune systems, and even then it typically takes an organ transplant or blood transfusion to spread from one person to another.

Cancer is mutant tissue that your body fails to destroy because your immune system fails to regognize it as foreign.

Some cancers are virus-caused, and the viruses that start the cancer can be contagious. That is the limit to contagion in cancer.
Reply:I've never heard of any kind of cancer being contagious, only hereditary.
Reply:Read up on it on the link below.

It will explain a lot for you.
Reply:It is neither contagious or idiopathic.
Reply:Cancer period is not contagious.
