Prostate cancer examinations?

I have problems urinating, I often feel as though I need to urinate but then can't. Sometimes I urinate but need to go again within a minute of leaving the gents. I am worried that I might have prostate cancer. I am doctors tomorrow for an examination. I know they have to check your P***S, I am worried that I might have an erection whilst I am being examined, especially if its a female doctor. Has anyone else had an examination for this, is the examination as embarrassing as the websites make out it to be.

Hope you dont mind a woman answering, but I work in a pharmacy and deal with this sort of thing. Your doc may take a blood test, that will show if there are any problems down there. He can also do a flow-rate check which is basically measuring how long it takes to pee, or even an ultrasound if he is uncertain.





Also, I doubt he is going to be concentrating on your willy, your prostrate is up your bum, so its rubber glove for the doctor, think of a happy place and be prepared to have a finger up yer backside.





As for an erection, I seriously doubt it will happen. Not when the doc has his finger up your bum, you are gonna be too nervous to get one, I promise you!





Also, if you do have a prostate problem, it doesnt automatically mean its cancer. It could be inflammation, so dont think the worst.

Reply:if they need to check for enlarged prostate gland then they wll insert a finger up your bum to feel the prostate gland. Sometimes this can cause erection . I doubt you will get an erection,but even if you did the doctor will have seen this many times before and not be at all embarrassed. hope everything goes well =)
Reply:I have done a PR examination hundreds of times and believe me the doctors are not bothered about your lower body parts
Reply:dont be embarrassed this is a normal reaction to this type of examination and the doctor will not think anything of it. my ex had it done many times and although not pleasant it was not as bad (he said) as people say. a little embarrassment is worth it if it saves yr life!
