Are my testosterone levels normal? Do high testosterone levels cause hair loss and prostate cancer?

I am a 16 year old asian american; I shave everyday because my facial hair grows considerably noticable everyday; i have more hair on my arms and legs than almost every asian in my school; plus my acne isn't pleasant either; do i have too much DHT? will this cause baldness? prostate cancer?

what can i do to prevent prostate cancer?

i don't really care about the baldness part once cancer is an issue; what can i do to lower my DHT; if i have too much

I don't think there's any link to cancer. But I have read that Asians actually have the lowest rates of prostate cancer because of their diet (Nutrition). To prevent prostate cancer, just eat a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and soy. (some people say masturbation is healthy for the prostate too =) )

It's probably genetics(hair, acne). Or it happened before you were even born if you were exposed to alot of testosterone in your mommy's womb. I think, but not sure exactly, that testosterone levels can be checked by a blood test.

Hold out your fingers and check if your ring finger is longer than the index. Yes means higher testosterone.

Try not to eat too much red meat, especially beef, I believe beef boosts testosterone levels. For the acne, good hygiene and not eating greasy or fatty foods (for some people) is the only thing to prevent it not counting medication and acne creams. If you must drink milk, stay away from skim. I know for us women, it can cause outbreaks...(Health and Fitness)
Reply:well, your testosterone may beused more efficiently, in your body tha in other asians, facial hair is stimulated by the testosterone but it actually grows because of fat in you skin whcich may be tied to your acne, as for prostate cancer, there are many other thing that can start it, high testosterone levels are one of them but you should just get scannned to make sure, go see the doctor
Reply:You worry to much. No you do not have to much DHT.

Depends on age.

You are about average. How big you will get depends on testosterone levels. The higher the more it grows. For example. Boys with micropenia (very small penis) are treated by putting testosterone cream on the penis or by injections. Do not do this without a doctor. The best thing is to eat healthy. Fruit and veggies. Pumpkin seed and Pistachios as well as other things raise testosterone levels.

Easy on the sweets. No smoking! How big you get pepends on how big your father and your mothers father is. That is the genetics that controls how high your testosterone level will get.
Reply:James H Yes it can cause baldness, and prostate cancer.Testosterone is naturally converted in to estrogen, when to much is produced which causes hair loss. Chances are your fine, and the only true way to be sure if your DHT is high you need blood test. Good Luck!
Reply:the cause for prostate cancer is unknown, there for there is no known way to prevent it. The key is early detection!
