Prostate Cancer Surgery?

Please tell me your experiences and successes with ED after Prostate surgery. Does Viagra work? I would welcome any feedback from men and women.

Prostate Cancer Surgery?
In the hands of a skilled surgeon, an ordinary erection is still possible, if those two nerves are not damaged. And the trick is to choose a surgeon who does this surgery all the time. ( Had a girlfriend whose husband had to have that surgery. He went into USC or UCLA and interviewed several before he allowed one to do the surgery.... he was very insistant as to the surgeon's success rate..... And he was fine. ) It is my understanding that Viagra and similar medication are useless if the nerve(s) are cut.
Reply:In spite of what I was told by my urologist, the operation turned me into a eunuch.
Reply:My dad had the surgery in May. NO luck whatsoever with ED medications or the pump even though the doctor was careful not to sever the nerves. Good luck. oh, and he still has some urinary incontinence too.

There are two ways to have it done open or with a system called the Davinci. The recovery with the Davinci is faster, and you don't have to wear a catheter for as long a time because it is done laparoscopically.

My dad also has a friend who had it done several years ago with the open method, he claims he is fine without any problems.

If it is you or a loved one having the surgery I strongly recommend that you/he go to a therapist with whom you can discuss the possibility of never having sexual function again beforehand. This way he won't be taken by surprise. My dad expected he would have function after 3 months, because the doctor told him with the davinci he would most likely recover function within three months. I keep telling him the doctor also said it could take up to 1 year so give it time. But honestly I will feel very bad for him if he doesn't recover function once he hits that year mark. I think it would have been easier on him to have decided to have the surgery in spite of knowing that he would not regain function. So........bottom line is in my opinion prepare for the worst and expect the best.
Reply:None of the standard methods work.

But there are alternative natural cures.
