Suggestions of a great gift basket? My grandpa is on kemo for prostate cancer.?

My grandpa is on kemo for prostate cancer. He's not nauseous and still has his appetite, but is diabetic- so sending sweets is out. He is so weak and tired- I live in NY and he's in Idaho- I can't be there to care for him but want to show him I still care so much- Do you have any thoughtful practical gift ideas?


I call weekly to talk and tell him I love him- I just want to give something tangible that can help him feel better...


i think i should give my grandma something too- she's going through soo much right now with him being sick... (they just had their 60th aniversary!)

That's very sweet of you. Does he like flavored coffees or teas? Maybe something like that. I know the peppermint tea made my father feel better, but he was a tea drinker. And green tea is very healthful so that may help him feel better.





Maybe you could make a home video of yourself saying hello and telling how much you miss them and love them.

Reply:Well you sound awesome!!!! I would get him things like crossword puzzles, Maybe some books. And When I was sick my kids got me lots of movies.....
Reply:How about a basket full of puzzles, cross words, those little twisted metal mind games that you have to undo and then re-do. Or maybe some paints, and paper. Those are busy work that's fun to do and hay who knows maybe he could make you some new art for your walls. Great idea for a gift basket, good luck, best wishes.

There are lots of sugar-free items available through floral shops...


What about sending cookie mixes (sugar free)... this will give your Grandma something to do instead of worrying...
