Many people said that hot peppers can prevent or cure prostate cancer?

If it is true, the prostate cancer rate in mexico would be very low? Is there any medical research to back it up?

Reply:No. Don't be naive.
Reply:well they don't have cancer as much as we do over here.
Reply:I recently read something about some anti carcinogenic compounds found in hot peppers that seem to indicate that they inhibit prostate cancer...don't know if this is the capsaicin or what..or if this was observed at a very high dose....good question though

Check out this link.
Reply:The ingredient that you are talking about in peppers is called Capsacin. I am not sure what it's benifits are reguarding prostate cancer, but alot of people take Capsacin supplements. Personally having lost my grandfather to prostate cancer, I wish more men were aware of prostate health.
Reply:I started to rail against this as another bogus silly story, but apparently there may be something to it:

(at least for mice with prostate cancer!)

Eat them 'cos they taste good!
Reply:Let me tell you about hot peppers. I had a chicken tika masala last night and asked for it to be a little more spicy than normal. (They aren't usually spicy) They chopped up a pepper (chili) and chucked it in there. I puked my ring up all night long. AND, my prostrate, well, we'll just have to see. Incidentally, They normally eat jalapenos in Mexico and chili peppers in India. Are there any data showing comparisons in prostrate cancer rates between the two countries?
Reply:yeah you got to shove em us ya ****
